Our History
Our company began in the early 1970's, with a focus on residential development, remodeling, and speculative home building. In 1979, Prendergast Construction was incorporated, Bob Prendergast became president, and our newly-formed company moved towards commercial, industrial, and government contracting.From 1979 until 1995, Prendergast Construction's source of business was small to medium commercial construction projects in Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina. The choice to leave the world of commercial contracting was chosen by fate after being asked to complete a whole house renovation for a close family friend. The job was taken on as a kind of favor, but it was truly the family friend who did us the favor.
Due to that project, Prendergast Construction was able to leave behind what we once knew and start on what we now know and enjoy: the business of repairing and renovating homes in Kingsport, Bristol, Johnson City, and surrounding areas.
